On the 3rd October 2014, Red Pebble Event Design along with Vogue for Women proudly sponsored a charity event called ‘Champagne and Chandeliers’ Fashion Show. This was held at the Expression Arts & Entertainment centre in Upper Hutt. Over the past few years Red Pebble Event Design has been a proud sponsor of the Tree Hutt project, which helps improves children’s experience of the emergency service at Hutt Hospital.

The evening was a huge success and it was kindly supported by other local and national companies/individuals who donated their time and/or items to the event. All the fashion models were an amazing team of voluntary ladies as well. The Upper Hutt City Council sponsored the venue as they felt it was a great cause.

On the evening there was an area where people could purchase a balloon with a number on to win a mystery prize [ the 100 tickets sold out within 10 minutes]. There was another stand where people could bid in a silent auction bidding for some really amazing prizes. Every guest received a glass of bubbles and the VIP’s were given a goodie bag and front row seats to the event.

The feedback from the evening has been outstanding from those who attended. Many commented and said it was really spectacular and loved how the venue was set up. Ladies loved the clothes that had been modeled which catered for a large range of ages and sizes. Most of all the evening gave the Tree Hutt a greater profile and publicity.

With all the ticket sales, mystery prize and silent auction, the evening raised $4,500. This money will be put towards purchasing two much needed new Phillips observational paediatric monitors for the emergency service which is part of the Tree Hutt.

Trust is winding down

The Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust (HHFT) was formed in 1993 in response to the potential closure of Hutt Hospital. Since then – with support from the Hutt community - we have supported the hospital, raising funds for equipment, nurse development and patient comfort.

The Trust is now winding down due to the regionalisation of hospital support services through the Wellington Hospitals Foundation. Its substantial fund-raising capabilities will greatly benefit the Hutt.

Any accumulated funds and resources upon cessation of the Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust will be handed over to the Wellington Hospitals Foundation for its continued work on behalf of patients and their families in our area.
