We encourage your interest and support, but approval of your fundraising campaign will in no way constitute an endorsement, express or implied, of your product, service, company, opinion and/or political position
All fundraising activities that support the Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust’s mission and strategic initiatives will be considered. Please understand that the Foundation cannot approve requests that promote the sale of alcohol, cigarettes, items that are harmful to an individual’s health, adult or pornographic materials, or any items that could be considered, by the ordinary person, to be in bad taste or inconsistent with our mission.

We also recommend that if you wish to make a bequest to Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust you discuss it with your solicitor. The Public Trust and Guardian Trust also help with the preparation of wills.

How to Make a Bequest

First you must choose a solicitor. The Public Trust can prepare your Will at no cost. You then need to decide who is to benefit from your Will. After this, your solicitor can help you put your wishes into words.You can bequest a specific sum (called a pecuniary legacy) or you can express the bequest as a percentage of the estate (called a residuary legacy).You could also leave a specific item (this is called a Specific legacy), but it is important to describe that item clearly.

The recommended wording for a bequest to Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust is:

“I give to the Hutt Hospital Foundation Trust, at PO Box 30835 Lower Hutt 5040 (insert X% of my estate, or the residue of my estate, or sum of money, or description of property or assets) for general purposes, for which the receipt of the Chairman or Secretary shall be full and sufficient discharge to my trustees.”

Do You Already Have a Will?

If you have a will already but want to alter it to leave a bequest, you can simply make an amendment. This is called a Codicil and can easily be arranged by your solicitor.
